Restoration Case Study:
From Rusty BN4 to CapeSport 3000

background

It never ceases to amaze us when the briefest of conversations result in ground-up restorations and this is exactly what happened with this project. The original request was to drop off some repair panels at a garage local to the customer whilst collecting the engine for CapeSport upgrades.

With the engine loaded and the panels delivered it seemed ideal to pause for lunch before joining the M5 northwards. After an eventful lunch with the owner and much talk about Cape’s ability to transform not only the look of these cars, but also the performance and handling it was concluded that the car should be restored at our workshops in Corley.

As you can see from the pictures the full transformation from rusty BN4 to CapeSport 3000 is now complete. Finishing touches such as the colour choices, the colour coded wheels and the lack of rear bumpers or the overrider alternative have ensured this fabulous car has retained the correct 1950s feel – and it’s a dream to drive.

Regular progress reports and stage payments kept this project progressing well and the car was delivered on schedule. We’re looking forward to welcoming it back to Goodwood in May. Come and see it on the Cape stand.
