Cape's Steve Norton was so smitten with this incredible story he asked Swedish Austin Healey Club Editor, Tommy Lyngborn, to translate it into English...
Morgan Larsson from Sweden has owned many fine sports cars but when he finally got the opportunity to buy the car he first saw at the age of two he could not resist.
After 25 years Morgan finally became the owner of the car of his dreams, a 1956 Healey 100 BN2 and what¹s more, it had only had one previous owner and had not seen the light of day since 1974.
Finding a 50 year old English sports car in the first owner's garage is a real story! It even had its original tyres and in the boot were the motor goggles and hoods that owners, Raimond and Alice Karlson, wore to avoid stiff necks and ear ache!
In 1956 Raimond, a car salesman, wanted a sports car and was keen to own a Morgan. Despite his job to convince people that the Austin A30 was an excellent car, he preferred an Austin Healey 100, even though he had to pay for it himself!
After many long trips in the Healey during the late fifties, Raymond and his wife Alice found they had less time to spend on it. On 24th January 1974 Raimond took the car for its MOT and returned it to the garage. This is where it stayed until 2005.
